Public Participation Networks 2018 Annual Report
Mr Seán Canney TD, the Minister of State for Community Development, Natural Resources and Digital Development launched the 2018 Annual Report of the Public Participation Network (PPNs) please find attached a copy of the PPN Annual Report in both English and Irish.
Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities Strategy
Minster Ring has announced Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities a five year strategy to support the community and voluntary sector in Ireland 2019 – 2024.
The Strategy to Support the Community & Voluntary Sector in Ireland sets out a long-term vision for our communities in Ireland. With actions to be implemented over the next five years, the Strategy sets a general direction of travel for Government policy in relation to community development, local development and the community and voluntary sector for the coming years. It also copper-fastens the renewed relationship and partnership between Government and the community and voluntary sector which has developed during the course of its preparation.
The Strategy realises the intent of the 2016 Framework Policy for Local and Community Development (Framework Policy) and fulfils the commitment in the Programme for a Partnership Government to – produce a coherent policy framework and develop a strategy to support the community and voluntary sector and encourage a cooperative approach between public bodies and the community and voluntary sector.
It has been co-produced by Government and people from the community development, local development, community and voluntary, and local government sectors. It is an ambitious strategy to support partnership and collaborative effort at all levels and between all stakeholders, comprising high level objectives and associated actions to support communities, their representative organisations, and the community and voluntary sector.
The Department of Rural and Community Development issued an online public consultation on key challenges and opportunities for rural Ireland.
This online survey provides an opportunity for you to contribute to the next phase of rural development policy for Ireland. Mr Michael Ring TD, Minister for Rural and Community Development, launched the online survey to seek the views of the public on key challenges and opportunities for rural Ireland over the coming five years.
This survey is part of a consultation process being undertaken by the Department of Rural and Community Development to inform the development of a new, whole-of-Government policy for rural Ireland for the period 2020-2025.
Closing date for submissions is 11th October 2019
Section 48(4) of the planning and development act 2000 (as amended) – Draft Development Contribution scheme
Tipperary County Council has prepared a Draft Development Contribution Scheme in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
The draft Development Contribution Scheme if adopted will apply from 1st of January 2020 and will remain in place until it is otherwise modified, extended or replaced by the Local Authority.
Copies of the Draft Development Contribution Scheme are available for public inspection in following locations from 28th September 2019 to 11th November 2019:

Tipperary Energy Agency is hosting a discussion meeting to gather community views on how communities can benefit from energy developments in their areas on Thursday 10th October 7:30pm to 8:30 pm, LIT Campus Thurles.
The Arts Council – Festivals Investment Scheme The Arts Council announces round two of the Festivals Investment Scheme (FIS) for festivals taking place July – December 2020.
The Council recognises the distinctive role arts festivals play in sustaining a vibrant and sustainable arts profile at a local level. Festivals provide opportunities for artists and audiences to experience new work and ways of making work. The Council acknowledges the valuable contribution made by voluntary committees in developing these festivals. The scheme will be open to multi-disciplinary festivals and single artform festivals.
Closing date for applications is Thursday 14th November 2019 at 5:30 pm

SafeTALK training programme will take place in
Clonmel – Friday 11th October from 9:30 am – 1pm
Carrick-on-suir – Monday 14th October from 6:30pm – 10:00pm
If you have previously attended the ASIST workshop, you do not need to attend safeTALK.
safeTALK is a challenging programme that prepares people to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. The alertness skills learned in the training are practiced during the training. For your information, there is a document attached giving you a brief description of the training.
We would like to offer you or a member of your staff a place on this course. Please note that this email does not secure a place for you on the training – places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please ensure that you / nominee are free for the full duration of the training as certification only comes with completion of the course.

8 week walking programme
Starts Tuesday 15th October @ 7:30 pm in car park opposite Ciss Ryan’s Lounge, GarryKennedy. Walks will take place in Portroe, Newtown, Garrykennedy. Walk at your own pace and build distance each week starting a 4km. Cost €10 plus booking fee
