Sanskriti: Celebrating Cultures, Building Community
|
Tipperary PPN are happy to be supporting a new, local project, funded by the national Integration Fund, and administered through the Department of Justice, Home Affairs & Integration.
“Sanskriti”, means “culture” in several Indian languages.
Sanskriti, here, is a community integration project, led by the Federation of Indian Communities in Ireland (FICI), a PPN-registered group in our Social Inclusion pillar.
The objective of this exciting initiative is to bring migrant and the broader Irish communities together, through intercultural events, arts and cuisine showcases, and capacity-building workshop. A strong focus will be on inclusion, mutual understanding, and community cohesion, over the course of the project.
Events and workshops are being delivered in Co. Tipperary and Dublin, through working in partnership with Tipperary PPN and Dublin City PPN.

There now is a new women’s circle in South Tipperary, meeting in Spafield Family Resource Centre in Cashel. They are part of the Women’s Empowerment aspect of Sanskriti.
The meetups are for any migrant women (there are Indian, Pakistani, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, Peruvian, English and Ukrainian women in the photos), and will:
- Focus on integration through language support, confidence-building, and social media/IT skill workshops.
- Build peer support groups that will include Irish women to foster friendship and mentorship.
The women have called their group ‘Shakti’, which means feminine power, energy or force.
A perfect name for a growing group of women in our community, gaining acceptance and empowerment, here in Tipperary.
Other events planned are:
- a series of workshops blending traditional Indian art forms (e.g., rangoli, henna, classical music) with Irish folk traditions to create shared pieces
- Small, moderated dialogues between migrants and host community members to share experiences, discuss challenges, and counter racism, through real-life storytelling.

2026 Painting & Enhancement Grant Scheme for the Nenagh MD
|
Tipperary County Council is seeking to improve the streetscape and public realm of Towns & Villages in the Nenagh Municipal District through supporting the owners of properties to improve and enhance their properties and public areas. Grants of up to 50% of the costs to a maximum of €500.00 are available.
As the budget for the scheme is limited priority will be given to:
- Properties which currently detract from the streetscape
- Commercial Properties
- Properties which have not previously received funding under this or the Streetscape Enhancement Scheme
Closing date for applications is Friday 21st August 2026.
All work must be completed by 9th October 2026 and receipts submitted by 23rd October 2026.

Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme
|
The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) provides funding for the development of new outdoor recreational infrastructure. It also provides support for the necessary repair, maintenance, enhancement or promotion of existing outdoor recreational infrastructure in rural areas across Ireland.
The scheme supports outdoor recreation activities such as walking, trekking, cycling, kayaking and hiking. It helps to make use of the resources of the countryside that contribute to healthy active lifestyles. It supports the economic and tourism potential of the area for both local communities and tourist visitors alike.

Grant Aid for Community Climate Action Events
|
Community Groups across County Tipperary are invited to organise events for National Climate Action Week 2026
An Taisce’s National Climate Action Week will take place from 12th – 18th October 2026. To support this, Tipperary County Council Climate Action Office, is providing funding to community groups to help them to organise and deliver their own community climate action event.
Tipperary County Council first introduced this grant programme in 2025, providing funding to 28 community groups. Building on this success, the programme is being rolled out again in 2026 to support community involvement in National Climate Action Week https://climateactionweek.ie
Each participating group will organise and promote its own event and will determine the dates, times and venues.
Two grant streams are available:
- Local Events: Grants of up to €300 are available for small local climate action events.
- Countywide Events: Grants of up to €1,000 are available for larger events taking place across more than one Municipal District.

The Erkina Solar Project Community Benefit Fund
|
Soleire Renewables are delighted to announce that the Erkina Solar Project Community Benefit Fund is now open for applications for the first round of funding for communities adjacent to the Erkina Solar Project in the Knock/Roscrea area.
In Year 1 the Fund will distribute €272,000 to community and voluntary groups, non-profit groups, clubs and societies, or organisations with a charitable status towards community-based projects and initiatives that support the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Community and voluntary groups, non-profit groups, clubs and societies, or organisations with a charitable status who are proposing projects located within the 4.5km Area of Benefit (click here for map) or which will provide community benefit and services to the communities within that Area of Benefit are eligible to apply to the fund.
Closing Date for applications is 5pm on Tuesday 1st September 2026.

LAWPRO (Local Authority Water Programme) Small Grants & Events Scheme
|
This grants scheme is for community groups to apply for small scale initiatives and events outside of LAWPRO’s targeted open calls. It covers events such as World Wetland Day, Biodiversity Week, Science Week, etc. It may also be used for small awareness raising initiatives such as surveys and plans, citizen science, hosting a meeting, workshops, litter pick, publications, biodiversity signage, or other such small scale initiatives. Applications must have a water quality or water awareness focus.
All expenditure must be incurred before Saturday 31st October and grants must be drawn down before Friday 6th November 2026

The Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation has launched a public consultation on a new Digital Wallet, designed to let you securely store important documents like your birth cert, driving licence, and EHIC on your phone.
As part of the Digital Public Service Plan 2030, the DPER is leading on the digitalisation of the majority of public services including, for example, applying for social housing, obtaining a marriage certificate or registering for key welfare supports, such as the working family payment.
The Government Digital Wallet is a key part of this plan and is being developed to provide the public with a quick and easy way to store important documents on their phone.

Barriers to Accessing Bank Accounts for Small Community Groups survey
|
Social Justice Ireland is an independent think tank and justice advocacy organisation that advances the lives of people and communities through providing independent social analysis and effective policy development to create a sustainable future for every member of society and for society as a whole.
Social Justice Ireland are conducting a short survey to better understand how Community Groups access basic financial services, and where gaps may exist. As Community Groups need a dedicated bank account in order to receive grants and funding, by sharing your perspective, you’ll contribute to research that aims to improve access to basic financial products for community groups. The survey is quick, anonymous, and open to everyone.

National Parent Survey on Childminding in Ireland
|
Childminding Ireland has launched a National Survey for parents who currently use a childminder. The findings will provide vital evidence to inform discussions with Government and policymakers around the introduction of mandatory childminding regulations, due to come into effect in September 2027. As decisions are being made about the future of childminding in Ireland, it is essential that the experiences and perspectives of parents are part of that conversation.
As a Public Participation Network, you play a vital role in connecting with families and communities across your area. National Parent Survey on Childminding in Ireland
|
The survey is seeking to better understand the supports and opportunities that exist within schools, as well as the challenges when working with children and families navigating a change in their family form.
The findings of the survey will be used to inform the development of new national guidelines aimed at strengthening supports for children experiencing parental separation, divorce, or shared parenting.
The project consists of two separate surveys as follows:
1. A survey for any parent/carer who is sharing parenting of their children in some way.
2. A survey for primary school staff.
The surveys should take less than 10 minutes to complete, and they will remain open until Friday 31st July.

Tipperary Local Community Safety Partnership Survey “Your Safety Matters”

The Tipperary Local Community Safety Partnership is inviting you to share your views and experiences of safety in your community. Your input will help shape a three-year Community Safety Plan for Tipperary, ensuring it reflects the real needs and priorities of the people who live and work here.
This plan will:
- Set out a coordinated, community-led approach to improving safety and wellbeing
- Bring together local services and organisations to work more effectively together
- Be based on evidence and lived experience from communities across Tipperary
- Reflect both national priorities and local concerns
What is a Community Safety Plan?
A Community Safety Plan is a three-year strategic plan developed by the Local Community Safety Partnership. It provides a framework to:
- Identify key safety issues
- Develop practical solutions
- Coordinate efforts across agencies and communities
- Deliver real improvements in local safety and quality of life
This survey is a key part of the process.

Tipperary County Draft Biodiversity Action Plan 2026 – 2031

Tipperary County Council wishes to inform you that the Draft Tipperary County Biodiversity Action Plan 2026–2031 has been prepared and is now open for public consultation until Friday 7th August 2026.
The Biodiversity Action Plan sets out a coordinated approach to protect, restore, and enhance biodiversity from 2026 – 2031. Through collective action involving communities it aims to conserve and strengthen the county’s ecosystems for the benefit of both people and nature into the future.

Discover how to gather, prepare and save seeds to create incredible habitats. Free seeds to take away too.
Tipperary County Council are delighted to offer this seed saving workshop delivered by Aoife Munn in celebration of Heritage Week.
The workshop will be held on Sunday 23rd of August from 10 am to 12:30 in Cabragh Wetlands .
Topics Covered include:
- Learning about local biodiversity
- Understand why seed saving matters.
- Know which plants are worth collecting from.
- Recognise native Irish plants suitable for seed collection.
- Understand when seeds are ripe.
- Learn several seed-cleaning techniques.
- Know how to dry and store seed properly.
- Understand the legal and ethical side of collecting seed.
- Leave with several packets of seed they have cleaned and labelled.

Certification in Sustainable Tourism Destinations
|
Tipperary Tourism is delighted to announce that we will be commencing a Certification in Sustainable Tourism Destinations (Level 6, accredited through MTU) and supported by Tipperary Skillnet. The course will start on Wednesday, the 16th of September, with the final date the 13th of January to align with the off-season.
This will be facilitated by Tina O Dwyer of The Tourism Space, who is a skilled and trained advocate of sustainable and regenerative tourism. This is a great chance to learn useful skills and practical techniques to improve your tourism business and help develop Tipperary as a sustainable destination.
The course is provided at a significantly reduced rate of €200, as Tipperary Tourism, in association with Tipperary Skillnet, is funding the majority of the cost.

This AI Awareness training course is designed for volunteers, staff, and managers who use or intend to use AI-powered systems, tools or applications in their work. It is also for board directors and senior managers who are tasked with developing and implementing AI related policies in their organisations, and in particular Acceptable AI Usage Policies.
Outline
Since February 2nd, 2025, employers must ensure that employees using AI systems have adequate AI literacy. Organisations must also ensure that the use of AI systems in the workplace is transparent. Hence, this eLearning resource is structured as a Level 1 awareness raising course comprising eight component parts.
This course aims to:
help you develop a solid understanding of what Artificial Intelligence (AI) is and its future potential;
look at ways you might typically deploy or use AI systems, tools and applications in your work;
provide you with an overview of the European Union AI Act 2024;
outline how an Acceptable AI Usage Policy might be developed and implemented to raise AI awareness among staff members.

Discover the historic medieval town of Clonmel where history, heritage and culture come alive. Explore the streets and lives of those who have come before us through some of the local areas ecclesiastical, historic, civic and residental architectural treasures. We will delve into how over the centuries changing political, economic and social developments left their marks on both the lives of and landscape of Clonmel town.
Whether you are a first time visitor, a seasoned traveller or a curious local you will gain a deeper appreciation of how Clonmel shaped Irish history, heritage and culture throughout the centuries.
Please be aware that this is a 90 minute to 2 hour walking tour traversing over various surfaces, so please make sure to wear appropriate footwear and clothing. A moderate level of fitness is required and it is recommended to carry a reusable water bottle.
The tour is fully accessible and utilises public footpaths and open spaces. We will traverse through car parks, laneways and graveyard on pathways.

Free Older Adult Outdoor Exercise Sessions Cahir

Healthy Tipperary, in partnership with Eimear from Everybody Movement, is delighted to offer a series of FREE Outdoor Exercise Sessions for Older Adults at the outdoor exercise equipment on The Swiss Walk, Cahir.
The six-week programme will begin on Monday, 10th August at 11.45am and is designed to help older adults improve strength, balance, mobility and confidence in a fun and supportive outdoor environment.

Bereavement Support Group 2026
|
The Bereavement support group provides a safe space for family members who have experienced the death of a loved one due to substance use or related issues. A place to share their experience of loss and grief in a non-judgemental space amongst peers and to help them find support for themselves and their families at this difficult time.
It can help you feel that you are not alone.
The group is facilitated by two trained psychotherapists and will provide respite opportunities.
This is a free service specific to the South East Regional Family Support Network.

Water Quality & Drinking Safety Advice in Ireland | Uisce Éireann (formerly Irish Water)
Saturday 25 July 2026 – Uisce Éireann has issued a Boil Water Notice for customers supplied by the Golden to Cashel Public Water Supply.
This notice is being issued to protect the health of approximately 4,800 customers due to high levels of turbidity in the raw water at Springmount Water Treatment Plant.
Customers impacted include all those supplied by the Golden to Cashel Public Water Supply including Cashel Town, Galtee View, Boytonrath, Mantlehill, Castlelake, Golden Road, Cluain Orga, Caiseal na Ri and the surrounding areas.
Customers can check if their property is included by visiting the Water Quality section of www.water.ie and entering the property’s Eircode or by calling the Uisce Éireann’s customer care helpline, open 24/7, on 1800 278 278.
