Charities Regulator Survey
|
We are keen to gauge the current position of Ireland’s charity sector, including the challenges it is facing, and also to obtain feedback on how we are fulfilling our role as the Regulator as we approach the end of the first year of our latest three year strategy. Accordingly we have commissioned independent research experts, Amárach, to undertake a survey of the charity sector. If you are a charity trustee, employee or an adviser to a charity, we are asking for your contribution by completing the survey.
Your views matter and will help to ensure that this research captures the significant diversity that exists in the Irish charity sector. The findings will provide the Charities Regulator, the sector and the wider public with crucial insight in relation to charities of all sizes on a range of issues. You may recall we commissioned a similar survey in 2020, and published the findings, which are available on our website. The results of our current survey will help us to track trends and progress on key topics.
This is a thorough survey with up to 50 questions (depending on your answers) and it should take no more than 20 minutes to complete.

Tipperary Festivals and Events Grant Scheme 2023
|
Tipperary Festivals and Events Grant Scheme 2023 is now open.
Festivals and events are crucial to the fabric of life in County Tipperary and they deliver a range of economic, social and cultural benefits. They entertain, they celebrate our communities, showcase our villages and towns and are often an expression of identity and place. They represent arts, cultural, heritage and sporting assets and make a positive contribution in influencing the perception of County Tipperary.
Tipperary County Council aims to promote and support local festivals throughout the County that are not solely commercially focused, to support and assist those events that have a tourism/cultural/artistic/sporting or community focus and which contribute significantly to quality of life.
Applications from events which are new or emerging and show signs of future potential to develop and can demonstrate that they link in with the objectives of Tipperary County Council are encouraged. It is important that these events are supported as they will promote and encourage innovation and creativity and may have the potential to scale up over time to become premier events. The purpose of this category is to enable an event which emerges mid-year (after the festival deadline for that year) to seek support on an exceptional basis. A festival or event may only apply to this category in its first year. Organisers of such events should contact festivals@tipperarycoco.ie to seek further information.
For more information visit https://www.tipperarycoco.ie/content/tipperary-festivals-events-grant-scheme-2023

HSE research found that one in two of us have had experience of a mental health difficulty. With the festive season approaching, people might encounter additional stress, anxiety, low mood and sleep problems as they try to meet the expectations of Christmas and the New Year.
Additional costs, work, socialising or demands of family and friends, can all impact on our mental health in different ways: irritability, breathing problems, panicky feelings or headaches.
The HSE is encouraging anyone who is experiencing ongoing stress, anxiety, mental health or sleep problems to make the connection with their mental health and take a moment to visit yourmentalhealth.ie . Here you can find a range of information on breathing exercises, resources on physical activity, apps on mindfulness, online courses on stress control and many more to help you over the coming weeks.
A national HSE advertising campaign continues on radio, social media, podcasts, websites, video, at train stations and bus stops during December and January. It highlights these common mental health difficulties, encouraging people to make the connection with their mental health and signposting to online supports and services.
