Tipperary PPN is very happy to be updating our member database. This is to ensure that we can keep in touch with you and your group. 

We want you to receive the latest newsletters and information on training and funding opportunities. There is a lot going on in our county with events where you can learn and network together, growing your group and community!

We are required, as per National PPN Guidelines, to ask all of our members to re-register. This process will also ensure that we are GDPR compliant.

In the coming months, we will be sending an email to your main contact person.

There is an opportunity:

• to supply any new information 
• to tell us if your group is no longer in existence 
• to tell us if your group does not wish to be part of the PPN network

We will update, amend or remove accordingly.

This re-registration process is very important, and we urge all members to submit it to us, as soon as possible, to keep our records correct. 

We look forward to hearing from you, and all our member groups, as we go through this procedure, as we continue to inform, strengthen and empower communities.

2026 Town and Village Renewal Scheme

Return date for Expression of Interest Friday 20th November 2026 

The 2026 Town & Village Renewal Scheme (TVRS)is designed to support the revitalisation of rural Ireland by focusing on stimulating town centre economic and social regeneration.

This will be achieved through projects which support sustainable employment creation, town centre resilience and regeneration, enhancing our streetscapes, and bringing vacant and derelict buildings and lands back into use as community multi-purpose spaces through refurbishment and renovation.

While the focus will remain on rural towns and villages, the 2026 Main Scheme includes a pilot urban town initiative (Category 4). This will support those local authority areas which have towns and villages within larger urban and metropolitan areas.

Tipperary County Council is seeking to establish the potential level of interest and the type/nature of any proposed projects that may be eligible under the scheme.

€100,000 in Communications Grants

Closing date Monday 9th November 2026 

Are you part of a community group, voluntary organisation, or small business with circularity at its core? If so, then the Circular Communication Grants are here to help you share your message and grow your impact.

Whether you are running a local upcycling session, building awareness around a community reuse and repair initiative, or simply looking to reach more people with your circular mission, these €100,000 in grants are designed to support you and your activities.

This grant programme aims to build awareness of the innovative work happening across Ireland and increase support for a more sustainable future for all.

Applications are open to non-profit organisations, community groups and recognised social initiatives based in Ireland with a circular approach that delivers social, cultural or environmental benefits.

Type of grants include:

• €1,000 grant to support communications and marketing activities that strengthen an initiative’s physical presence,
• €5,000 grant to support initiatives looking to expand their digital presence,
• €10,000 grant to support more established initiatives looking to scale their communications and reach.

Wellbeing: Measuring What Matters Survey

Social justice Ireland invite you to take part in a survey to help improve our understanding of quality of life and wellbeing in Ireland.

In 2022, your input helped us develop an alternative wellbeing framework that identified the priorities of people living in Ireland. Building on this work, we are conducting a follow-up survey to understand how these priorities may have evolved over time.

The survey should take approximately 20–30 minutes to complete, although many respondents may complete it more quickly. Please feel free to answer the questions on topics you are familiar with or have views on, and skip any questions you would prefer not to answer.

Social justice Ireland also invite your views on potential indicators for environmental, social, and economic sustainability within each wellbeing dimension, as we believe these are critical to sustaining wellbeing over the long term.

Your participation and insights are greatly valued and will help inform this work.

Tipperary LCSP Public Consultation Workshop “Your Safety Matters”

Tuesday 17th November in Moycarkey-Borris Community Centre, Littleton from 7pm – 9pm

The Tipperary Local Community Safety Partnership brings together community representatives, local agencies, voluntary organisations, public services, and statutory bodies to work collaboratively in making our communities safer, more inclusive, and better places to live, work and visit.

LCSPs provide a new and innovative approach to community safety by listening to local people, identifying community safety priorities, and developing practical actions that respond to local needs. The views and experiences of residents are at the heart of this process.
This facilitated workshop is an opportunity for people living, working, and participating in communities across Tipperary to share their experiences, discuss community safety concerns, and help shape the future of community safety in the county.

The feedback gathered during this consultation will directly inform the development of Tipperary LCSP’s three-year Community Safety Plan, ensuring that local priorities and concerns are reflected in future actions and initiatives.

The workshop is a free event and will be led by an independent consultant and will provide a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can openly discuss issues affecting community safety, wellbeing, and quality of life in their local areas.

National Maritime Oil/HNS Spill Contingency Plan Survey 

The Irish Coast Guard (IRCG), has commenced a review of Ireland’s National Maritime Oil and HNS Spill Contingency Plan known as the National Contingency Plan.  The NCP, which was first published in 2020, sets out a national framework for preparedness, response, recovery and interagency coordination relating to maritime casualties and marine pollution incidents along our coasts and at sea. 

As part of the review, the IRCG has designed a survey (below) to help capture public and stakeholder views in this area, particularly those with an interest in prevention, preparedness and response management – having regard to potential impacts of such incidents on wildlife, local industries, and the environment.  Participation in the survey is strongly encouraged as responses received will assist IRCG in its review and in its objective to develop an updated NCP.

IRCG welcome feedback on any or all aspects of the Plan. However, there is no requirement to respond to every question – you are encouraged to focus on the areas most relevant to your organisation or your expertise/interest. If this survey is not accessible to you for any reason, IRCG are happy for you to make submissions to OilHNSPlan.MSG@transport.gov.ie by 5pm on Wednesday 4th November 2026.

Through My Eyes: A Photovoice Study

Irish Hospice Foundation is conducting a photovoice project inviting adults with a life-limiting condition or receiving palliative care to take photographs that show their experiences and what matters most to them.

Help us understand what matters the most to you at this stage of life and to improve care now and into the future

The ATTUNE project, led by researchers at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences and funded by the Department of Health and the Health Research Board, is exploring how home support services can better meet the needs of people aged 65 and over. Its findings will help inform future home support policy and services across Ireland.

The future of home care matters to all of us. Getting support right can make an enormous difference to an older person’s independence, dignity and ability to remain in their own home. It is essential that decisions about these services are informed by the people who use them and understand, through everyday experience, what works and what needs to change.

The survey is voluntary and anonymous. It is for people over 65 who have experience of receiving home support in Ireland. A family carer or someone they trust can complete it on their behalf.  Survey link: Attune Home Support Survey

Calling Women’s Sheds and women’s groups across Ireland

Researchers at the University of Limerick are conducting a national study exploring the experiences, challenges and impacts of Women’s Sheds and similar women’s groups across Ireland.

If you are on the organising committee of a Women’s Shed or women’s community group, you are invited to register to take part in this research. This will help build a better understanding of the contribution these groups make to women’s wellbeing, social connection and community life.

Your participation will help inform recommendations about how Women’s Sheds and groups can be better supported in the future.

Tipperary Digital Strategy Survey

The world has witnessed major technological progress since Tipperary County Council launched its Digital Strategy for the county in 2018. With the National Broadband Plan now having completed its work in the county, the Council has commissioned research firm, Market Dynamics, to conduct research to review the state of digitalisation in 2026.

This questionnaire is aimed at those organisations that have a representative role for organisations or individuals based in Tipperary, e.g. industry bodies, community groups, business networks, etc).

The questions should take around 7-8 minutes to answer. Information shared during the interview will be kept confidential and only be used in aggregate as part of our analysis. Questionnaire for Community Integration in Tipperary

As part of the ongoing development of the Co. Tipperary Integration Strategy, a series of consultations and focus groups have already taken place across the county, bringing together migrants, community members, service providers, and local stakeholders to share their experiences and perspectives.

The attached questionnaire forms part of this wider consultation process and provides another opportunity for people living in Tipperary to have their voices heard. The strategy aims to reflect both the experiences of migrants and long-established community members to ensure it identifies what is working well, highlights areas for improvement, and supports stronger, more inclusive communities across the county. 

The survey is anonymous. No names, phone numbers, or email addresses are required.

Understanding and Living with Psychosis & Paranoia

Making Every Contact Counts (MECC) Training

Multiple Course Dates  

Making Every Contact Count (MECC) Training, a practical programme that helps healthcare and community workers confidently support positive behaviour change and promote healthier lifestyles.

MECC equips staff with valuable communication skills to have supportive, person-centred conversations about health and wellbeing. While the training focuses on topics such as smoking, healthy eating, physical activity.

The programme has two parts: MECC eLearning Modules (Online) and  Enhancing Your Brief Intervention Skills Workshop (In-person Workshop)

Both can be accessed through www.hseland.ie. If you do not already have a HSELand account, you will need to create one before getting started. Once you have completed the eLearning modules, you can register for the Enhancing Your Brief Intervention Skills In-Person Workshop.

Ladies Invited to Try Pitch and Putt with New Beginner Programme

Tipperary Sports Partnership is delighted to announce a new three-week introductory Pitch and Putt programme for ladies.

The programme is designed for women of all ages and abilities who would like to learn the basics of the game in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. Whether you are completely new to Pitch and Putt or simply looking to try a new activity, this course offers the perfect opportunity to get started.

• Nenagh Programme -The programme begins on November 5th and will run from 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Participants will meet at Nenagh Scouts Hall, where they will be introduced to the fundamental skills and techniques of the game.
• Cashel Programme – The programme begins on November 5th and will run from 10.30pm to 11.30pm. Participants will meet at Halla na Feile, Cashel, where they will be introduced to the fundamental skills and techniques of the game.

The Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion

The six-day Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion (FPSHP) is for health, education, youth work and community service providers who wish to develop their confidence, skills and knowledge in sexual health promotion.

The Foundation Programme in Sexual Health Promotion aims to enhance participants’ capacity to incorporate sexual health promotion into their work through the development of their comfort levels, confidence, knowledge and skills in relation to sexual health.

Connecting with Men 

Wednesday 28th October from 9:15am to 4:30pm

The aim of this workshop is to assist a broad range of practitioners and service providers to explore the world of males, and to develop practical strategies for effectively engaging with them around health and wellbeing issues.  It focuses on the engagement process (i.e. WHY and HOW to build relationships with men) rather than offering a new or revised health programme (i.e. WHAT to offer them). 

Wednesday 28th October 2026 from 9.15am – 4.30pm in The Bridge Centre, Cashel Road, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary – E91 X5T7 

The key objectives for this workshop are to: 

• Reflect upon how to create a ‘safe space’ for working with men.
• Gain a common understanding of what men’s health is and why it is important.
• Explore how gender influences the values and attitudes that men develop in relation to their health, and how this influences their health behaviours.
• Identify some of the determinants that shape health outcomes for men.
• Reflect on participants’ own value base, experience, skills, attitudes towards and expectations of men.
• Explore what a ‘male friendly’ health programme or service looks like in practice.
• Signpost participants to further sources of help, advice, guidance and support. 

This workshop will be of interest to a broad range of service providers and practitioners who wish to connect in more meaningful ways with men. The ‘Connecting with Men’ workshop is free for all participants.

Safeguarding 2 Club Children’s Officer Training

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Child Welfare and Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Workshop.

This workshop is aimed at sports leaders, Children’s Officers, parents or anyone working with young people in sport.

A central goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills.

A certificate of attendance will be issued on completion of the workshop. A person appointed to the Club Children’s Officer position in a club must have completed safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness workshop) on 16th November 2026 at 6pm.

AI Awareness Training (eLearning)

This AI Awareness training course is designed for volunteers, staff, and managers who use or intend to use AI-powered systems, tools or applications in their work. It is also for board directors and senior managers who are tasked with developing and implementing AI related policies in their organisations, and in particular Acceptable AI Usage Policies.

Since February 2nd, 2025, employers must ensure that employees using AI systems have adequate AI literacy. Organisations must also ensure that the use of AI systems in the workplace is transparent. Hence, this eLearning resource is structured as a Level 1 awareness raising course comprising eight component parts.

This course aims to: 

• help you develop a solid understanding of what Artificial Intelligence (AI) is and its future potential;
  
• look at ways you might typically deploy or use AI systems, tools and applications in your work;
  
• provide you with an overview of the European Union AI Act 2024;
  
• outline how an Acceptable AI Usage Policy might be developed and implemented to raise AI awareness among staff members.

Lifestart: Growing Child Programme

Free and Voluntary Service

Home visitors work alongside you, the parents/guardians, any time from pregnancy right up until your child starts school. We visit families in their homes to share guidance, information and support on child development and parenting. 

What do we offer?

• Regular home visits from one of our trained Home Visitors 
• Time and Space to ask questions about your child’s development and parenting
• Practical guidance and encouragement through your child’s early years
• Up-to-date health messages and tips for your baby or young child
• Support in accessing other services

Home visits take place once a month but can be more frequent if you would like. Your Home Visitor will work with you to agree a schedule that suits your family. Home visits typically last between 30 and 60 minutes.
