Tipperary PPN December Newsletter 2024

|
As 2024 closes and 2025 is only around the corner, Tipperary PPN wishes you all a peaceful and restful Christmas break, after a busy year, that seemed to fly by for us.
As a final countywide event in 2024, Tipperary PPN recently hosted our autumn all-member groups’ county meeting, known as the Plenary, in Cashel, in the lovely venue of Halla na Feile.
I hope you agree that the photos here reflect the warm and welcoming atmosphere that was felt at this bi-annual event, that became a valued networking evening for members, staff and agencies alike, last week.
The photos are thanks to Derek Fanning and his great photography!
It was the last of many events the PPN hosted in 2024 and, already, there are dates in the diary for numerous 2025 events, both countywide and in the municipal districts.
We have had a year where we worked positively with a lot of partners, both statutory organisations and community ones, being part of a growing energy in the county to protect our beautiful environment, enhance community spirit & resilience and, most of all, listen to the voices of local communities and their need to be heard on all levels within County Tipperary.
See you next year for our Save the Dates!

Funding for Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2025 Announced
|
Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys and Minister of State with responsibility for Community Development and Charities Joe O’Brien have announced €7 million in funding under the “Department of Rural and Community Development Local Enhancement Programme 2025”.
Funding of €206,558 has been allocated to Tipperary for small scale capital supports for community groups and organisations, particularly those who serve disadvantaged communities in rural and urban areas.
There will be a particular focus on small capital works/improvements, and the purchase of equipment for community use. The funding may be used, but is not limited to; improved access for persons with a disability; enhancing community participation for disadvantaged and marginalised groups, and improving energy efficiency of community facilities to reduce ongoing costs.
A further €34,426 in current funding is available to community groups to assist with their energy and running costs, to help them continue their important work within the community.
The scheme is designed to ensure local priorities are identified and met, so as to improve and enhance community facilities for all. All funding will be available to a diverse range of community groups including but not limited to Men’s and Women’s sheds/groups, community centres, parish halls and local voluntary groups.
Please Note: The funding will be administered by the Tipperary Local Community Development Committee (LCDC). It is anticipated that the application stage will open in January 2025. Details of the application process will be advertised widely through the council website, the Public Participation Network (PPN), local representatives and local media.
